Why the gap?

What are the Easy Access Rules?
To make its rules easier to consult, the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) gathers each regulation, its AMC and its GM into a single consolidated document.
Why aren’t they always up to date?
They are published as periodic revisions. Between two revisions, new EU regulations and ED Decisions are published and become applicable on their own dates. The Easy Access Rules only catch up when the next revision is released.
How does this affect you?
A text can be applicable while it is still missing from the document you are reading. Auditors assess you against the regulation in force, not against the latest Easy Access Rules revision. If your manuals and procedures are based on an outdated version, you risk a finding for a requirement you did not know had changed.
